Asociación de Liderazgo Comunitario (ALC)

Increasing the voice of resident parents and youth

From 2006 through 2008 ALC evaluated 150 homes in the area of City Heights, impacting more than 200 residents who learned more about health care within the home and learned their rights as tenants. In 2008 the first conference for Health and Housing was held in City Heights for residents from diverse areas throughout San Diego county with an attendance of 180 participants.

From 2009 and to this date, ALC has made four major Leadership Academies and managed to graduate more than 350 residents who have received substantial benefits to knowing their rights as active citizens in their communities. ALC Committees help develop future leaders to make an impact for a better perspective on the kind of life we want in our community, while gaining greater access to decision making for the welfare of all.

A community based organization dedicated to the holistic empowerment of communities. Through organizing, popular education, and advocacy.
